Georgetown Folks:
With a new recording system
for Georgetown meetings in Town Hall
installed this year, access to recorded
audio files is now much easier. We will
post the audio files of selected meetings on
the Town's website. We cannot post audio
files of all meetings because of the space
requirements of audio files. We have
posted the first such audio file of the
February 27th Board of Selectmen meeting .
This meeting featured extensive discussion
of the procedures used by Police and Fire
officials during closures of I-70 at
Georgetown and also a discussion of policies
regarding frozen water lines and water
dripping allowances if you are interested in
listening to the discussion on these topics.
Audio files of all meetings
are available, but they are sometimes too
large to email, even if compressed to MP3
format. However, the audio files of many
meetings can be emailed if the meetings were
not too long. So if citizens want the
audio file of any meeting, they can send me
an email and we can return the audio file in
MP3 format to them. MP3 format typically
has to be converted to a .wav file for
listening on your own computer, but many
computers have those programs installed in
them and most versions of Windows Media
Player can convert MP3 files.
Thought you might be
interested in this new feature on the Town
website.
